We have two strikes:

Oshitari Yuushi: You were having a wonderful time - excellent dinner, very receptive company willing to head back to your place. How did you deal with the fact that you couldn't get it up? You are starting to wonder if there is a problem. Being tired is one thing but after a good night's sleep and still having issues? That's not good. This is your second strike.

Saeki Kojirou: Music class is going great! Everyone is having an amazing time. It makes you wonder why they haven't fixed your drum kit.

Hiatus (from the past week):

Akutagawa Jirou
Atobe Keigo
Echizen Ryoma
Kirihara Akaya
Sanada Genichirou

Seriously, the past three years have been awesome! I kinda left the country and traveled. A lot. I went around the world!

Maybe the only thing that really sucked about the trip was that I'm kinda behind everyone else now, since I'm just starting college now. But I got to see so many places and do so much awesome stuff. So many stories and pictures to show and tell!

I haven't really talked to my old friends from Hyotei either. I definitely lost contact with too many people. But it's really hard to reach people when you're halfway across the world traveling through swampland and such.

I saw so many good things but I saw some bad things as well. And I want to do something about these things. I want to record things so that people will know about what's going on.

I was thinking about going somewhere else with a film school. That would have been amazing. But I talked with my counselor, who pointed out that if I go for Communication and possibly a few minors in various fields, I'd learn the same things. And this place was a lot better than a lot of the other places I looked at.

Name: Akutsu Jin
Journal: u_r_damn_sheep
Major: none (taking a business night class next semester)
School Team?: no
Part-time Job and where: He works at the school doing maintenance.
Roll to change character’s handicap?: no
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. Finally this damn school realized they needed more than two fucking retards doing the maintenance. It’s just part time, but it’s a damn sight better than my last crap job. I’ve already repaired four damn heaters this first week. And the ovens in the kitchen are a real bitch. I told the kitchen staff that they better damn well clean the crap out of them before I even start trying to repair them. I don’t give a shit about a little grease, but the amount of grime was a damn health violation. Suckers are lucky I didn’t fucking report them. Didn’t want the hassle. I still can’t believe the last asshole I worked for fired me after digging up my juvy record. Those damn things are supposed to be confidential. Bastard must have bribed someone for them. Fucking corrupt government can’t stay out of people’s own damn business.
Speaking of business… I signed up to take a damn stupid business class next semester. Yuuki’s way too damn gullible. The government’s probably fleecing her… taxing her café for more than it’s worth. Idiot woman. She still can’t take care of herself so I need to look over the damn books for her.
The only good thing in this shitty, boring life right now is that I can afford to get the parts I need to fix my bike now. And pay the rent that my whiny landlord keeps nagging me about on voicemail. Coward’s too scared to try to collect it face to face. Too many fucking morons in this town.

IC Information
Name: Kurobane Harukaze
Journal: </a></b></a>kurobane_san
Major: Elementary Education
School Team?: No
Part-time Job and where: None, at least yet.
Roll to change character’s handicap?: No.
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years.

After junior high, Bane did as all teenage boys do and went on to high school. Even in his first year, he knew what he wanted to do after high school. He wanted to go to college, get his degrees, then go back to Rokkaku...as a teacher.

He'd always enjoyed hanging around the elementary kids, helping them with their homework and teaching them little moral lessons on how to be nice and share and work together.

But Rokkaku wasn't exactly a rich-kid school, so his parents didn't have the money to send him to college. They had a college fund that they'd been putting money into once a month since he was born - and a similar account for his little brother - but it wasn't going to be enough, especially not for as long as Bane was planning to be in school.

He did two things, then. First, Bane had his parents give him access to the account, swearing that the only way he'd touch it was to put money in or maybe move it to an account that got higher interest. Then, he quit tennis. He didn't really want to, but as he told the now junior high kids, "Sometimes, when you want something badly enough, you have to make sacrifices."

Instead of playing tennis, Bane started babysitting to earn money. He didn't charge a lot per hour and at first worried that he wouldn't make enough money, but when parents started realizing that their kids really liked having Bane around, and that Bane honestly enjoyed being around the kids, they started paying him more than he asked for. After insisting that they really didn't have to, and being told to quit arguing and take it, he stopped worrying so much. The local parents even gave him bonuses when they had to call him last minute, and some went so far as to send him donations to his college fund for his birthday and Christmas.

He worked hard at his babysitting job through all three years of high school, and ended up saving quite a bit of money. He moved his account once, during his freshman year, to a place that got nearly double the interest, and, by the time he graduated, he had enough to get himself a good start.

The first three years of his college education were at a local college in Chiba while he applied around for grants and scholarships and continued to babysit. His chance came when he got a scholarship for TPU, and so he transferred in for the better education program, even though it meant having to leave all his favorite kids behind.

Once he finishes his bachelor’s, Bane plans to stick around for his master’s and, while it’s not an immediate, soon-as-he’s-got-his-master’s plan, he has every intention of getting his PhD, even though he knows he might have to work full time and do his classes as night school. And then it’s back to Chiba for him, to give back to the school that gave so much to him.

Name: Niou Masaharu
Journal: </a></b></a>masa_man
Major: Mathematics Education (Math with the purpose of becoming a teacher)
School Team?: Not yet.
Part-time Job and where: Works as a math tutor.
Roll to change character’s handicap?: ...No clue...
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. (To be answered IC 1st or 3rd person and written as either a RP tag or a journal entry of 200 words minimum so that the mods can get a feel for how you play.)

Once upon a time I thought I'd be an actor. It's pretty easy to impersonate people when you put your mind to it, and I'd been practicing that particular trick since I was a kid. It's fun to put on new hair, a little makeup to cover my distinguishing mark, take on a different walk...but I realized sometime in high school (probably during a production of Hamlet) that I wasn't cut out for it. For one thing, I didn't want to be someone that everyone had been. I wanted to be someone else -- someone new. Someone undiscovered... Perhaps myself?

I've always liked Math, though, so after I quit messing around in the theater department I took on teaching as my future occupation. I feel kind of twitchy about it -- it doesn't feel quite right to me yet, even though I like Math AND teaching, but it's as if there's something unfulfilled in my character that I haven't yet discovered.

Is it travel? Do I need to hit the road?

The past six years haven't been very eventful. I've dated. Girls, for the most part, although there are a few boys I've eyed up over time. My older sister got married and has two adorable kids -- on the weekends I'm over at her house babysitting and trying to get homework done. My younger brother is still a little <s>shit</s> cutie-pie, just like I was at his age.

College feels pretty good. I haven't made any big changes, but I'm still different. Older, longer hair, and yeah I still keep my Padawan braid. I'm not a Jedi yet...

Name: Joaquim "Jackal" Kuwahara
Journal: ulooktasty
Major: English Education (like his mom)
School Team?: no
Part-time Job and where: Soccer Coach for local little league
Roll to change character’s handicap?: no
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. (To be answered IC 1st or 3rd person and written as either a RP tag or a journal entry of 200 words minimum so that the mods can get a feel for how you play.)
Journal:
We won our first game today! The kids are flying high and it was impossible to calm them down when I took them out for ice cream to celebrate. We had some close calls with the play-place, but no hospital trips, so no worries. Nine-year-old boys are more resilient than their mommies give them credit for sometimes.

Speaking of mommies, mine decided to give me homework. As if I didn't have enough to do. She's wanting me to teach my kids how to keep score in Portuguese too, because kids counting in foreign languages is apparently adorable for everybody. She says it's a good test of teaching skill as numbers are universal in concept at least. I say, the kids want to play soccer, not have more school, but if they seem interested, then we'll see.

This transfer is feeling more and more like a bad idea with all the extra work I'm putting in. This improved English program better be worth it. My father heard some gossip about how some of my old friends are going to this school, and I hope it's true. Knowing people in new places helps you adjust, and it would be interesting to see if Niou is any closer to world domination or if Kirihara's head exploded without somebody around trying to calm him down.

IC Information
Name: Kabaji Munehiro
Journal: foundavoice
Major: Culinary Arts
School Team?: no
Part-time Job and where: nowhere at the moment
Roll to change character’s handicap?: no
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. (To be answered IC 1st or 3rd person and written as either a RP tag or a journal entry of 200 words minimum so that the mods can get a feel for how you play.)

Seven years. It’s a long time, isn’t it? A lot has happened in six years. Some of it, I think for the better. Those who would see me now, I don’t know if they would recognize me. I’ve not changed on the outside. Not much anyway. I’ve grown taller, yes. I have to duck to get under doorways, but I’ve always been the biggest. I think it’s an internal change. I think it is because I’ve finally found my own voice, and sometimes, I even use it.

I’m sure most everyone remembers me as the big shadow behind Atobe-sama. Always there. Always present. Just right behind him, never saying anything. A loyal, solid, stoic yes man to his every whim. Some might remember me as a monster on the tennis court, turning their own precious techniques against them, copying them. Because I’m simple…I’m stupid. I can’t make my own decisions. I can’t make up my own techniques. Poor, dumb Kabaji. Poor stupid, simple, pure hearted dolt. But I wasn’t. I wasn’t any of those things. I’ve always been very smart and I’ve always made my own decisions. It was my decision to join tennis, just as it was my decision to follow Atobe-sama to hell and back more times than I’d like to remember. And a few times that I rather enjoy remembering.

But then he went to high school, and I was a year behind. I had no one to follow anymore. I had to start doing things just for myself. I didn’t have fingers to snap at me. I didn’t have knowing eyes that could read my every lack of expression or familiar years that could translate my every “usu”. Though I had the others, those who’d yet to go into high school, I was on my own. I was on my own for the first time since I was in elementary school. Before Atobe Keigo walked into my life and swept me away in his tide. I… I had to grow up. I had to become my own man. I had to speak for myself and act on my own whims for the first time in years. It was an awkward time, and I was glad. I was very happy when I went to high school and returned to that place of comfort for me.

But the seeds had already been planted. And I think, I think Atobe-sama was glad for it. I think he pushed me more. Helped me branch out. Assisted me in finding my own voice. My own paths. Even when they led me away from his side in the end. I left his side and I’ve not returned, because it was always my decision to be there. I went to be with my sister and her husband for a while, and I went to look for something I could do. Something I could enjoy, for myself.

I found cooking. I’ve always liked Home Economics. I’ve always enjoyed cooking, even if I wasn’t always very good. My fondest memories with Atobe-sama usually involve sitting with him and eating something new and strange and delicious that the cooks made for us. I likes the idea of how happy it made people, to sit around a table with company they liked and good food. I decided I wish to be a chef. After all, I already know how to handle picky people. One doesn’t follow around Atobe Keigo without learning a thing or two about pleasing the toughest of critics.

I was rather surprised when I found a school that offers such a curriculum. I was worried. I was worried I’d have to go to France or Italy or places far away. Osaka is far away, but not so far that I can’t visit home when I want. So, I’m attending now. I’ve always been shy though and so, I will use the new voice I’ve found within me and I will do my very best. I will become the best chef in Japan and I will make a lot of friends.

Watch out Iron Chef…Kabaji Munehiro is coming to take your place.

Name: Fuji Yuuta
Journal: </a></b></a>twisted_yuuta
Major: English and Japanese Literature
School Team?: Yes
Part-time Job and where: a local bookstore, tutoring
Roll to change character’s handicap?: no
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years:

Yuuta was happy to be back in Japan. He’d spent the previous year at a university in America to improve his English skills. The flight back wasn’t bad and he’d even made it in time for Christmas. He hoped Yumiko was getting him a new Nintendo DS. He’d complained about the screen fritzing out often enough during the past few weeks.

He’d really miss his roommate, a cool guy named Mark who’d shown him around a lot of Boston and New York City during his stay; among other things. Yuuta sometimes thought that maybe he should have stayed, but his relationship with Mark hadn’t been serious, it was just two friends fooling around. Just like in high school when Hajime…

Yuuta bounced up and down a bit on the balls of his feet. The people exiting the plane in front of him weren’t moving fast enough and he knew his family was waiting for him on the other side of customs. He really should have called or emailed them more often, but he’d been enjoying himself too much. He’d been far away from any of their influence and no one at Harvard had ever heard of his perfect older brother.
They’d gotten closer again in high school, but Yuuta still hated it when people compared them. He didn’t blame Syusuke for that anymore though. His brother couldn’t help how he was. Well, he couldn’t help how other people treated them, but Syusuke could control his own actions. Yuuta still owed him back for years of teasing.

He finally was able to get off the plane and he hefted his carry-on more securely as he looked around for his family. Now I'm back in Japan, with nothing but the memory of marbled cities, tall, aggressive women and an arsenal of recipes tucked neatly into my brain. I'm completely taken with risotto, all the different ways to dress it up: asparagus, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, all the flavors of Italy mixed up into somethin' suspiciously like rice. Now that I'm back, mama complains that I bitch about her cooking, and she's probably right. It's tough to get out of the habit of critiquing everything that passes through my mouth...

I'm back here to try to finish my degree in Japan. I miss Italy, Chef Ercole, the restaurant on the plaza where people would sit for hours in the gently descending dusk. We don't have a similar custom in Japan, but it would be nice...

I wonder how everyone is, after all this time? Atobe...cousin Kenya...Gakuto, my first crush. I've missed 'em all, but somehow (like family) I knew they'd wait for me and catch me up once I'd finished what I set out to do. I hope they welcome me when I return! (I hope Gakuto doesn't kill me for not writing much.)

Name: Echizen Ryoma
Journal: r_echizen1225
Major: Undeclared
School Team?: Yes
Part-time Job and where: concession stand at a movie theater
Roll to change character’s handicap?: Nope

Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. There was nobody too special playing, but it was tennis, and tennis was always worth watching. He’d spent some time in the Pro Circuit to see what they know, but found himself missing Japan. Not that he’d admit it to anyone, especially the old man. After spending his middle school years at Seigaku, he departed for America, only to return here for college. He wasn’t so sure what he wanted anymore. Tennis had always been, and always will be a big part of his life…though he did not know whether or not he wanted it to be his entire life. It was a bit late to go to university, but better late than never. For once, he’d be one of the oldest freshmen there; they would have to call him senpai.

Mada, mada dane, he drained his Ponta as the shorty playing the high school kid missed an easy return to lose the match. Ryoma remembered when he was that short, though even now, he was no giant. The taller, more muscled high school kid laughed teasingly at the losing player. Dressed in his street clothes and old white cap, Ryoma figured nobody would recognize him here.

“Ne,” he said, smirking up at the high school kid wiped the court with the short boy, “Care to teach me some tennis?”
These lists will probably be going away as soon I as figure out a better way of keeping them organized. Although, I would like to know how many of you actually used these when building your own application.

Thanks,

Natalie

Name: Yanagi Renji
Major: Classics (minor in History)
School Team?: Yes
Part-time Job and where: Bookstore clerk on campus
Roll to change character’s handicap?: No
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. (To be answered IC 1st or 3rd person and written as either a RP tag or a journal entry of 200 words minimum so that the mods can get a feel for how you play.)

[Private]

It is still summer. The heat makes one languid and unproductive. I have never longed so much for the cool breezes of autumn. Or perhaps it is change I long for?

I have finalized the transfer to the university in Osaka. My parents still seem a little confused about my decision to complete my degree at a different institution, but are supportive. “Kyodai does not suit you,” my mother said, long ago. It is true, then, that sometimes people know you better than you know yourself.

I came to Kyoto because I admired the professors at Kyodai, and because I thought the culturally-rich environment would inspire my studies. Yet, there was always something missing—my days passed hazily, and the joy I found in books was diminished. It took me a while to work out the cause of the problem, but less than a minute to pinpoint the cure.

At any rate, it will be pleasant to see everyone again (how curiously convenient that so many of my friends and acquaintances are gathered in one place). Perhaps I shall even play tennis. Seiichi, Genichirou, Sadaharu… I wonder what they will think of the new Yanagi Renji, who is even more taciturn than his old self, and already half-tired of life.

I hope the food in Osaka will not be too greasy.

Name: Ryuuzaki Sakuno
Major: Elementary education
School Team?: no
Part-time Job and where: yes and at the office she was at before.
Roll to change character’s handicap?: no
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years.

Basically, after taking some time off after having a nervous breakdown, Sakuno is back and ready to rejoin TPU. She still has the same job and will be using the same old journal. All the old memories and stuff that happened several months ago still happened. She's just rejoining the community after a few month hiatus due to way too much going on in her life. She did change her major though because she realized that health was just not the field for her.

Life was crazy a few months ago. I took on quite a bit between school and work but it was fine. However, I never expected to receive a phone call from a man claiming to be my uncle. That sent me into a dark place and I cracked.

While I was recuperating, partially in the Tokyo hospital, I got to know a few of the nurses really well. And when I was there with them, they told me the story of previous patients. I couldn't help but ask if they'd gotten attached any of them. One of the women, Kiyoki-san, told me that it was almost impossible not to and when the people left, recovered or dead, it was one of the hardest things.

Their words made me think. Could I really keep myself distanced enough from people that I spent all my time caring for? No, I realized. Even if they were just random people, I wouldn't be able to stop myself from caring. Losing Oba-chan had almost killed me. To meet people and realize that they might die everyday...I couldn't do it.

So I thought. If not health care, then what? What could I do? What did I want to do?

It didn't actually come to me though until I was wandering around one day. I have always liked children and they have seemed to really like me. Plus, I want to do something that would make a difference. My teachers were some of the most influential people in my life. Why not teach elementary children? It seemed like the perfect choice. Besides, I'd been undecided before, just leaning towards the health field. My classes were mostly gen. ed. So that's how I ended up with elementary teacher as my new career choice.

Name: Dan Taichi
Major: Architecture
School Team?: No, unless there's need for a manager
Part-time Job and where: Library clerk on campus
Roll to change character’s handicap?: No
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years.
It was never supposed to go quite like this, was it.

It was tennis, always tennis for Dan, tennis and data ever since he first dared to try his hand at it and instantly fell in love. It was for Akutsu-senpai at first, for all the senpai who chose to believe in him, but soon it became simply his love for the sport itself, for the data he gathered. Notebook after another was filled with data, never enough, there could never be quite enough, he hadn't reached his goal yet.

He had as long as until the first year of high school.

It wasn't supposed to be anything special, really. His boyfriend, so much like Akutsu, older and stronger and fierce, loved his motorbike quite possible more than he did Dan. This was quite fine, as Dan loved his data more, too. A ride at nightfall was nothing new, just a moment of fun for the two of them.

None of Dan's calculations had ever included waking up in the hospital to hear his boyfriend was dead and he himself might not ever walk again.

Tennis or not, never before had Dan so hard strived to surpass all data presented to him. Little by little, his injured leg started to heal, to get stronger. Finally, after a long period of rehabilitation, he could walk passably with the aid of a cane.

However, it was quite obvious he would never step on a tennis court again.

For some time Dan tried to forget tennis altogether, not wanting to be reminded of everything he had lost. He concentrated on catching up with his studies, graduating from high school, and getting into a good university. Architecture, he thought, would be an excellent way to combine his two loves of arts and data. And, most importantly, it had nothing to do with tennis.

It's not until very recently that he's come to terms with his injury well enough that he'll actually watch matches and gather data again – something he's missed even more sorely than he'll admit. However, he still doesn't appreciate any reminders that he used to play, himself.

Name: Tachibana An
Major: Theater
School Team?: Yes
Part-time Job and where: Waitress
Roll to change character’s handicap?: Nope
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. (To be answered IC 1st or 3rd person and written as either a RP tag or a journal entry of 200 words minimum so that the mods can get a feel for how you play.)

"When we act, we wear a very fragile, easily broken, glass-like mask. No matter how well we perform the role, no matter how excellent our acting is, if our mask is broken our real face is exposed."

I didn't exactly think of such things when I attended Fudomine Junior High. As a schoolgirl who occasionally went to some idol or dorama auditions with her friends, whether just tagging along or hoping to get a small part (if just as an extra), I just thought that it would be fun to play different characters and be loved and idolized by teenagers just like me.

That was, until my first year class in Yamabuki Highschool was in charge of small theater skits during our school festival. The class president was also in the drama club, so she took command of the whole situation and got us all to work hard on it, from "stagehands" to "actors". I wasn't exactly in the spotlight that time, but such an experience told me that there was more to the whole deal than just looking pretty in front of a camera.

I liked that challenge, hehe. So much that I became an official member of the acting club in Yamabuki. And after studying some more in an acting school and getting a transfer... here I am now, studying theater in Osaka to be taken seriously in the industry. I'm not gonna rely just on a pretty face; I want to have both the face *and* the skills, certainly.

Name: Sanada Genichirou
Major: history/archeology
School Team?: No
Part-time Job and where: custodian at school and teaches kendo at home
Roll to change character’s handicap?: No

My parents decided that it would be best for me to transfer here after the death of Grandfather.
In a way they were right, I can see that now that I am here; away from our home containing so many memories. Even if I am not physically reminded of his death, every facet of my being is aware that it was my fault. I failed to stop him. It is useless to try to prevent me from dwelling on the past, as I have always felt that the past is often used to predict the future.
There is nothing for me here. The old friends I once knew have probably moved on and even if they did notice my presence, they would hate me for the abuse I inflicted during training. I am glad that I am no longer that person; I hated him as much as they do, he was the person unable to stop grandfather’s death. In order to change myself, I went on a kendo training retreat, and through meditation I found myself more and more insufficient than I had ever imagined.
I will not be joining the tennis team, it will hurt far too much to be reminded of the friends I once had and the life I took for granted. I will put my entire focus on schoolwork, my job and kendo. Friends are superfluous, but should anyone come to me for help they will receive it.

Name: Kirihara Akaya
Major: Psychology (School of Arts and Letters)
School Team?: Yes
Part-time Job and where: Waiter (off-campus, at a café nearby)
Roll to change character’s handicap?: No
Explain what their future plans are and how they have changed in the past six years. (To be answered IC 1st or 3rd person and written as either a RP tag or a journal entry of 200 words minimum so that the mods can get a feel for how you play.)

As Kirihara Akaya sat atop his bed, staring at his ceiling, he realized that there were a number of things he was quite unsure about. He wasn't sure if he liked the small apartment he was living in at present, a few blocks from the university. He wasn't sure if he should finally get a pet as his older sister had suggested--"to make it feel more like home," she'd laughed over the phone. He wasn't sure if he was really interested in his major, having applied with it on a whim. He wasn't sure if he should call his parents; they'd had a falling out a few months back due to an insensitive comment his father let slip, which had in turn brought about his demon-eyed alter ego. He also wasn't sure if he approved of the man his beloved onee-san was going to marry in about a year. If she went off into her sappy little rabu-rabu land with Prince Charming, he frowned, where would that leave him?

Throwing his pillow against the wall, he huffed. It wasn't like he was still a child trailing after the one person who would always champion him. But with her gone, he knew it would be different. And if there was one thing the brunette did not like very much, it was change. It was how he'd graduated from high school and got separated from his friends. It was how he'd first felt disappointment when he realized that he wasn't the strongest in Rikkaidai. He knew he needed it, was supposed to thrive on it. But the damn thing was always messing with him. Perhaps that was why he'd formed his Demon Mode, to escape into a place where things would stay the same; still, in no rush, waiting. For him.

There were countless things Kirihara Akaya was unsure about. But there was also one great thing that would always back him up: tennis. This was why he'd told his parents, with the Rikkai pride shining in his eyes, that he was going to be a professional tennis player someday. And he hadn't even flinched when his father laughed, thinking it was a joke. Yes, with tennis, things wouldn't spiral out of control. It was ironic; Akaya knew one could not predict a match perfectly, however, a match was one small aspect of a world he could call his own. And that was what mattered most.

IC Chat Log Poll - What Day Do You Want?

People have really enjoyed the impromptu IC chats that occur in our OOC chatroom. Nothing's ever planned, just some nights it clicks and others it doesn't. Because of that, we've asked around and players have expressed interest in holding a few planned IC chats. These chats would be held on a designated day starting between designated times. People can pop in and out.

We will recruit a volunteer to clean up each chat log (it's kind of a pain to do). We thought our dry run could be Yukimura's Mostly Manly Movie Night. I can't remember how many takers Renji had for his More Manly Movie Night but if we have several, we can do a log there too if people want.

Only pick one! Three strikes will result in being kicked out of the community unless you present a very compelling argument. Strikes will be handed out every week, but get reset every two months. That means, if the first strike is taken seriously, and the character posts regularly for the next two months, that strike will be removed from their record. The two months will be based on the calendar of the mod in charge of strikes.

Although most RP-comms have a 3 strikes and you're out rule, we greatly admire the way Tenipuri Fusion uses them to encourage role-playing. If college life isn't your forte, you should check them out. It's a wonderful RP Comm that has been around for a long time.
</a>
Tennis Rules ~ Singles & Doubles

Follow these rules when singles matches are played.

Wins and losses for tennis matches will be determined based on handicaps and dice rolls, a d8 for Singles and d10 for doubles. Online die generator can be found here. Singles handicaps can be found next to the character in the available character list

The roll is an online generated 8 sided die. The roll of the die plus the handicap gives the numbers to be compared. The one with the high score wins. If the players are in disagreement over the results contact a mod and they will help you decide by doing their own dice role. There is no appealing to other mods unless you feel the mod has been grossly unfair. If 2 mods say so then that's how it is; no further appeals are allowed.

Example: A top player like Tezuka, for instance, might have a 5 pt handicap. So he could roll a 1, but have a total of 6. A 0-ranked player (Horio perhaps) could roll a 8 + 0 handicap and still beat him. Or Tezuka rolls an 8, 8 + 5 = 13 meaning Horio can't win.

All tennis players who have competed in the tournaments (and a couple of the girls) have been ranked with a handicap that will help them win their matches and hopefully prevent arguments between OOCs about who is better than whom. All non-regulars have been assigned a handicap of 0. Upon application each player may request that their character be allowed to gain a permanent handicap point. However, this is a gamble. There will be a die roll that will result in +1, 0, or -1 added to your handicap. This means that Tezuka, a 5, can roll and get -1 making him a 4. If he gets a +1 he will be a 6 and above all the other players. It also means that Arai, a 0 handicap, can roll a -1 and have a -1, handicap putting him at even more of a disadvantage or get a +1 and move up and get closer to the other players.

Follow these rules for doubles matches

Use a 10-sided die for doubles matches. Take the average of the two characters and add in any doubles pairing bonus they may have. That will give you the handicap. If the two characters have a number ending in .5 then round up. So a person with a 2 handicap and a person with a 3 handicap look like this: 2 + 3 = 5/2 = 2.5 round that up to a 3 handicap. Set doulbes pairs have an extra bonus. Example: Golden Pair. Oishi and Eiji both have handicaps of 4 and a pairing bonus of 3. So they would be 4 + 4 = 8/2 = 4 + 3 = 7 so the GP has a handicap of 7.

Seigaku

Echizen Ryoma 0

Fuji Syuusuke +3

Kaidou Kaoru +3

Kawamura Takashi +3

Kikumaru Eiji +4

Momoshiro Takeshi +2

Oishi Shuichirou +4

Inui Sadaharu +4

Tezuka Kunimitsu 0

Golden Pair
List of NPCs

If a character has family that will be visiting the character can make a post in the OOC comm requesting that another player play them for an RP.

Also there will be Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) at each of the universities. If needed another player can play the NPC character during an RP. Feel free to volunteer to play a NPC and earn FLMs. Players should make the effort to log with other players unless they're pursuing a specific storyline. Even then, the mods prefer more than one player in each NPC log. If, however, you can't find someone to log with, contact a mod to hold an NPC log for you.

Storylines involving NPCs need to be cleared with the mods to avoid conflict with other characters’ storylines and to go over NPC personality traits.

If you would like to create a NPC for your own purposes talk to the mods first. This is to eliminate drama and from having two NPCs in the same role.

Coaches

o Higashi: Sakaki (He was fired from Hyotei after seducing a student, but it was hushed up and he was recruited by Higashi. He is also a music professor and a one-time pro player.)

o Kita: Hanamura (She was offered the position in order to perfect her style of training and given a research grant to do so.)

o Minami: Ojii (He led Rokkaku to 35 consecutive National appearances and was recruited by several former players to help Minami do the same at the University level.)

o Nishi: Banji (After seeing his ability to take a losing team and make them National level Nishi recruited him. They were also impressed with his ability to nurture players into becoming better.)

Professors/Faculty/Advisors archetype list: These can be found at all the Universities. They will be assigned specific roles as the need grows.

o Default: teaching until they find something else

o Part-Time: teaching to supplement their income

o Dedicated

o Academic: no real life experience

o Experienced: real life experience

o Scatterbrain: a little on the ditsy side, gets side-tracked easily

o Absent-Minded: forgets things

o Tenure: lazy, no one really likes them

o Clutz: trips/runs into/knocks over everything they can

o Genius

o Hardass

o Newbie

o Oddball: odd sense of humor, behaviors, speech patters

o Friend: the one you talk to

o Comedian

o Artist

Echizen Nanako: Assistant School Sports Physician

Fuji Yumiko: Guest professor on parapsychology
